Golden West District #26 AHEPA Family Scholarships 2024 Application Form

- Dimitrios and Antonia Bonnis Scholarship – $1,500.00
- Greek Orthodox Community of East Vancouver Yianni Gionnis Scholarship – $1,500.00
- Kosta Liaskas Memorial Scholarship – $1,500.00
- Andrew & Katie Cleride – $1,500.00
- AHEPA Gladstone – $1,000.00
- Peter Alevras Memorial Scholarship – $1,000.00
- Cretan Association – $1,000.00
- St George Philoptochos – $1,000.00
- Christos Nikolaou Family Trade Scholarship George Bonnis Family Memorial Scholarship* – $1,000.00
*In memory of all the Bonnis Family Members that served the AHEPA organization
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for any of these scholarships the applicant must be:
Resident of British Columbia & of Greek decent (one parent minimum)
Presently enrolled or accepted as a full-time student (minimum 24 credits) at an accredited university, college, or trade school, and will continue in school in the coming year
Someone who did not receive an AHEPA scholarship in the previous year (applicants can re-apply every other year)
Bonus points awarded if a parent is a member of AHEPA or the Daughters of Penelope.
The scholarships are awarded to a member’s child, or a child affiliated with an AHEPA member who attends a Post-Secondary School or Program (College, University or Trade School).
The Scholarship Committee will be comprised of members of AHEPA and Daughters of Penelope.
The committee will review the applications and determine who will receive each scholarship, with the understanding that some of the above scholarships have additional specific criteria.
***No family member of an applicant will be part of the review and selection process***
General Selection Criteria
This scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who demonstrates excellence and evidence in the following areas:
- Academic Achievement
- Leadership
- Service (School, Church, Community, other)
- Extra-curricular involvement
Application to Include:
- A completed application form
- A cover letter
- A grade 12 Transcript of Grades
- A copy of the most recent post-secondary report of grades
- A letter of Acceptance or Proof of Enrollment at post-secondary institution
- 2 Reference Letters
- Parent name who is a member of AHEPA or Daughters of Penelope
- List of leadership, service, and extra-curricular experiences
- List of volunteer and paid work experience
- Statement of Future Plans (1 – 2 paragraphs)
